# Quantity for option value

**"Quantity for Option Value"** allows you to enable or disable quantity selection for specific option values. It's particularly useful when you want customers to specify how many units of a particular option they would like to purchase.

There are two main controls available within this feature:

**1. Min/Max Quantity**

* **Min Quantity**: The **lowest number** of an option value that a customer can select.
* **Max Quantity**: The **highest number** of an option value that a customer can select.

This is ideal when you want to enforce a required minimum or cap the number of an option value that can be chosen.

**2. Min/Max Total Quantity**

These settings are useful when the option includes **multiple option values** or is part of a **group** where you want to control the total quantity selected across all values.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://options-docs-v2.avisplus.io/get-started/key-terminology-simplified/quantity-for-option-value.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
